Coming soonSenior Housing Solutions · Technology & AI
Fall detection, emergency call systems, family apps, AI monitoring. Bruce Rosenblatt has toured these Southwest Florida communities in person. He’ll tell you which tech is real, which is marketing, and which actually matters for your parent.

Every community I tour now tells families about its technology. Some of it genuinely keeps residents safer. Some of it is a tablet in the lobby that nobody uses.
When your mother falls at 2 a.m., what matters is how fast someone reaches her. When you live 1,200 miles away, what matters is whether you’ll actually hear from the staff. Those answers aren’t in the brochure. I’ve spent years walking these buildings and asking the questions families don’t know to ask.
This site puts what I’ve seen in one place, so you can compare communities on what really matters, not on what’s marketed.

Coming soonAt minimum: a 24/7 emergency call system with tracked response times, a reliable way for families to reach staff, and backup power that keeps those systems running in a storm. Fall detection, family apps and smart sensors are valuable extras, but only if staff actually act on the alerts.
No. The best systems alert staff faster, but a person still has to respond. On a tour, ask how quickly someone arrives after an alert, not just whether the system exists.
Ask whether the community offers a family app or portal, scheduled video calls, and a named staff contact for updates. Bruce can tell you which local communities do this well.
It depends on the generator. Ask what it powers — call systems, Wi-Fi, air conditioning, medical equipment — and for how long. Southwest Florida families should ask this on every tour.
They're useful for general questions, but they usually rely on national averages and outdated figures. Local pricing in Naples, Bonita Springs and Fort Myers varies widely, so verify with someone who tracks it firsthand.
No. Families never pay for Bruce's help.

Bruce has spent more than 35 years in senior housing and has been matching Southwest Florida families with the right community since 2008. Families know him as the “Matchmaker of Senior Housing.”
He is a Certified Dementia Practitioner and a founding member of the National Network of Senior Housing Advisors. He personally tours the communities he recommends, so he knows their pricing, their staff and their technology firsthand. Families pay nothing for his help.
The best-wired building isn’t the right home if the care, the cost or the people are wrong. Tell Bruce about your parent, and he’ll narrow Southwest Florida down to the communities that fit — tech included.
